Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has returned to work despite being struck on the head by a falling pole while filming a key scene in the second series of the hit TV show.

The sexy actress - who plays adulterous vixen Gabrielle in the US television drama - was rushed to a nearby hospital after the heavy object came loose from the suburban set in Pasadena, California.

Amazingly the petite star escaped with just a small bump on the head, and is thrilled there is no longlasting visible scar.

Longoria's publicist Liza Anderson confirmed: "She's fine. She's happy and healthy. I spoke to her several times. It was a minor incident and she's ready to go back to work.

"She's thankful for all the kind get-well wishes."
