UK Pop Idol Michelle McManus today embarked on a whistle-stop tour of her Scottish homeland, reaching out to her fans and thanking them for their support over recent months.

The singer, fresh from her success on the ITV show, went on a tour of four Scottish cities to mark today’s launch of her first album, The Meaning of Love.

Michelle’s fans recently catapulted her to the top of the UK charts for three weeks with her debut single All This Time.

Today in Edinburgh, on the penultimate stop of her whirlwind tour, the singer was greeted by raucous cheers from the largely teenage audience.

The singer beat 20,000 hopefuls to be crowned the first female UK Pop Idol.
