Cowell: Boyle record sounding 'fantastic'
03/07/2009 - 10:41:43

Simon Cowell has only heard a few tracks from 'Britain's Got Talent' singer Susan Boyle's first album, but said he is more in love with her voice than ever.

He said: "I've cut one track with her and she sounds fantastic on record. She's so good, the album is not just going to be show tunes. We're going to take our time with this."

Boyle shot to fame when she sung 'I Dreamed a Dream' from stage show 'Les Miserables' at the talent show's Glasgow auditions.

In the final of the programme, She came second to dance troupe Diversity. She later collapsed from exhaustion and spent five days in rehab.

Cowell was accused of exploiting the 48-year-old Scot to improve ratings, but denied the claims.

Cowell, 49, said: "No one ever put a gun to her head and said you've got to enter the show. I sat down with her and said 'Look, if this is getting too much for you, you don't have to go into the final.

“No one's going to force you - you do whatever you want, whatever suits you'.

"And she looked me in the eye and said, 'No I want to win this competition, I want to give it a go'. That was the decision we all made."
