Trade goes on between Koreas
16/11/2009 - 07:05:46

A North Korean cargo ship arrived at a South Korean port today – days after the divided nations fought a bloody naval skirmish off the west coast.

The ship arrived in Incheon Port, west of Seoul, and was unloading 1,750 tons of silica to be delivered to a South Korean firm. Its arrival is a sign that trade has been unaffected, although the two Koreas fought their first naval clash in seven years last Tuesday.

South Korea put its troops on high alert to cope with possible North Korean provocation but has said it does not want to see the skirmish harm relations with the North.
