Kirkland a doubt for Wigan
25/08/2009 - 14:30:26

Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is carrying a slight knock and may be rested for Wigan’s trip to Blackpool for their Carling Cup second round tie tomorrow.
That would mean Mike Pollitt would be most likely to deputise, although Richard Kingson would also come into contention.
Manager Roberto Martinez will look to freshen up his side after Saturday’s 5-0 defeat at home to Manchester United.
That could mean the likes of Erik Edman, Emmerson Boyce, Ben Watson, Cho Won-hee and James McCarthy may be given their first starts of the season.
Provisional squad: Kirkland, Melchiot, Figueroa, Edman, Boyce, Bramble, Thomas, Scharner, Diame, Brown, N’Zogbia, Koumas, Watson, Cho, Gomez, Sinclair, Scotland, King, McCarthy, Rodallega, Pollitt,
